Richard Savage
Writer and artist Richard Savage was born in the north of England in 1962. He has been a figurative artist for twenty years and strives to make his art work challenging and thought provoking. His work is diverse and his aim is to capture something of the celebration of life in all its wonderful shades. Richard currently works from his Cambridgeshire studio, also giving art and life drawing classes.
Richard has a background in illustration, fine art and technical drawing. He works mainly in acrylics, but is also happy working in oils, pastels, line and wash, watercolour and mixed media. He draws inspiration from classical art, and the styles of the contemporary artists Boris Vallejo and Jack Vettriano.

Richard's current projects are concentrating on figurative art, illustrations and book covers, currently working for four American publishing houses. He also undertakes private commissions and considers most professional work. He has never shied away from provocative topics including fetish, gothic, gay, lesbian and fantasy. Much of his private commission work comes from the BDSM world, Richard has a working knowledge of how the scene operates and it is for that reason his clients feel comfortable with him working on their project. “My clients value their privacy, and it is my job to put them at their ease, while we work on their artwork”
He works from photographs and sells mainly over the internet, a high percentage of work going to the United States as well as to his home UK market. He also sells well globally to a growing and appreciative audience.
